Typical System

This drawing shows a typical Xtag system in a post natal ward.
Located conveniently at the nurse station is the host PC.
From here a simple network links the PC to the alarm portal reader and long range reader situated centrally.
A nurse has added a new record to the system whilst a new born baby in the "safe area" is issued with an Xtag.
The long range reader covers an area of up to 50 meters diameter detecting the "presence" signal from every infant's Xtag every 1.4 sec-onds, the same reader will alert if a battery is low or an Xtag has not been seen for a period (selected by the administrator). Additionally it will raise an alarm if an Xtag strap is cut or removed.
The portal reader will alarm if any infant fi tted with an Xtag is detected close to the exit door.
Additional outputs from the Xtag receivers can be connected to nurse call systems, CCTV systems, security and access control solutions, these will continue to operate even if the PC is off line.

Flexible Design

Xtag baby solutions have been designed from the outset to provide maximum flexibility with minimum impact in their every day use within a post natal facility.
The tag design is unique, smooth and curved to fi t the ankle of a new born infant, it can be worn comfortably and will not pinch, rub or irritate the skin, it is hypoallergenic, waterproof and easy to sterilize between uses.
The tag can be attached quickly and easily using a soft custom designed, tamper resistant hypoallergenic disposable strap.
Staff using the system, simply enter the tag ID number and the infants name into one of the computers distributed throughout the "safe area", the infant is monitored continuously from this moment forward.
